These are answers to most frequently asked head shot questions for actor's and corporate client's.
Do you only photograph head shots?
We are a full photo-studio with several photographers for different requirements. Our fashion photographer will photograph your head shot
How much can I expect to spend to get a Great Head Shot?
You can get a really great head shot taken for $150.00 and that will include a lightly retouched print with your name on it. The Reproduction prints are additional.
What are Reproduction Prints?
Reproduction prints are either Photographic(litho), Printed(Ink), or Laser(Toner) Copies of your head shot, these are the prints that you give out with your resume.
Can you make Reproductions as well?
Yes, we are currently putting tighter a pricing package that will include everything together.
Can I bring my own Hair and Make-up artist?
If you know someone who is good and you feel more comfortable with them, yes by all means you may bring them but please understand that the studio is not responsible for the out-come of your photographs with your own make-up artist.
How fast can I get my photographs?
Normal Service is 3–Working Days. You can usual see your on-line proofs the next working day after your shoot, Give another day or two to get your print(s) back.
Can you re-touch my picture?
Yes, we do all stages of retouching
Should I retouch my picture?
Most of the time you should, we generally clean up all images. Like taking out loose hair or a spot that is in the image or sometimes removing bags from under the eyes and even a scar.
I was told that re-touched pictures look fake?
Well Most people out there are not used to doing artistic retouching so they will give you back an image that was very obviously altered. Our graphics person has been working with retouching for 20 years and is a portrait artist as well.
Can you print 8x10 Glossies for me?
Your 8x10 Glossies are reproduction prints and can be printed by us as well.
Should I get a B/W or Color head shot?
That will really all depend on what you like, In California they are using mostly color glossies but here in New York Black & White is still the normal. You may get either at anytime since we are shooting digital.
Can you make a resume for me?
We can defiantly show you the tools for creating an actor’s resume. You can also go to our download section to get the PDF or Word formatted template.
How do I book an appointment?
You can send and e-mail from the contact page requesting a shoot, call us at 212-964-8240 or fill out our Session request form. In all cases you will need to speak to a photographer. So make sure you leave your phone number.
Can you find work for me?
Sorry, I am not a booking agent for actors. I get very limited information on jobs for actors.
What should I bring to the Shoot?
Bring a Great attitude and an open mind as well as:
Grooming supplies:
- Either hair spray, gel or whatever you may use to hold your hair.
- Hair clips, pins, brushes, combs
- Your base color foundation lip gloss, toothbush
Clothing:
- A few different shirts or tops
- Very simple jewelry
- Comfortable shoes
